Boosting economic growth in a sustainable way
On behalf of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union I would like to warmly welcome you to this event bringing together many dedicated actors with a view to discussing important issues of the Baltic Sea Region.
Boosting economic growth in the region is a central topic as well as the need do it in a sustainable way. The Annual Forum / BDF Summit will this year have particular focus on the investment in infrastructure and its potential to connect the region thereby creating better conditions for among others economic growth and employment. We will also explore how to invest smarter and greener and explore how public-private partnerships can help boosting economic growth in the region. Many other issues will be discussed and interesting activities will take place in the “Networking Village”.
It is going to be the single biggest event on Danish soil under our Presidency. I am looking forward to two and a half days of fruitful discussions, interaction, networking etc. enabling us to better understand and deal with the challenges /opportunities that we face.
I am very happy that the Annual Forum and the BDF Summit is once again organised as one event by the European Commission and the Baltic Development Forum – this year in collaboration with the Capital Region of Denmark, the Region Zealand, the Region Skåne and the Danish Presidency.
I look forward to seeing you.
Nicolai Wammen
